Common mistakes and tips
- Choose a follow-up detail from the answer rather than immediately moving to a new question.
- A short answer is fine. Add one reason with because to practise extending it.
Try it yourself
Write one follow-up question to “I found a new café while walking.”
Show an example answer
Example: “What was the atmosphere like?” or “What makes you want to go back?”
After your practice
Write down one expression you used for the first time. Think of another situation where it would be useful, and try using it in your next conversation.
